About the Program

Ever since October 7, 2023, Israel has been in a state of war on several fronts at once. Yet the Israeli economy has so far performed remarkably well at the macro level. A “miracle”? Not quite. The “micro” has been deeply affected, and the real costs are just starting to be felt. In this webinar, Professor Emeritus Manuel Trajtenberg will discuss the inner strengths as well as the vulnerabilities of the Israeli economy in the wake of the war, and their implications for the future. He will also dwell on the wider economic implications for the region and beyond, as well as on the changing nature of asymmetric warfare that turns the home front and the economy into main targets.

Later on, he served as the Executive Director of the Institute for National Security Studies (INSS). Trajtenberg is currently a visiting senior researcher at the INSS, as well as a faculty member at the Mandel Foundation for Leadership in Education.
