UCLA is offering a summer Russian class for high school students who are exposed to Russian at home and want to learn to read and write or to develop their speaking, listening, and literacy skills.

Anya Ice

Anya Ice was born in Yalta, Ukraine. She received her BA in Russian Philology and MA in Applied Linguistics from Taurida National University in Simferopol, Ukraine. She also holds an MA in Slavic, Eastern European and Eurasian Languages and Cultures from UCLA. Anya worked as a high school literature teacher in Ukraine. She also taught the Russian language to international students in Moscow and afterwards, worked as a Russian Teaching Assistant and an Adjunct Professor of Russian at Franklin & Marshall College in Lancaster, Pennsylvania. Currently, Anya is a PhD student at the UCLA Slavic Department. Her research interests include bilingual education, heritage language teaching, heritage language development and maintenance, identities of heritage language speakers as well as Russian diaspora in the USA and Russian émigré literature.
