    UCLA will offer a summer Russian class for high school students who are exposed to Russian at home and want to learn to read and write or to develop their speaking, listening, and literacy skills.

    The Russian program is funded by Startalk.

    • Tonya Sergieff

      Tonya Sergieff was born and grew up in Belarus, a former republic of the Soviet Union. After her graduation from the Gomel State University (Belarus), she worked as a teacher of World Culture and Russian Language and Literature for grades 5-11. She is currently a PhD candidate in the UCLA Department of Slavic Languages and Literatures. Tonya has taught a variety of undergraduate Russian language classes, including for heritage speakers. She has taught the Russian for Russian Speakers class in the Startalk Summer Program at UCLA for two years.
