UCLA will offer a summer beginning Russian class for high school students. This Russian class is for students with no prior exposure to Russian who are interested in learning the language.
The Russian program is funded by Startalk.

Olga Ivanova received her undergraduate degree in African and Oriental studies from St. Petersburg State University in Russia. She continued her studies at University of Hamburg, Germany, where she received her M.A. in African Languages in Context. After graduating she taught language at the Goethe-Institute Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. She is currently a PhD student in the UCLA Department of Applied Linguistics, and her research is focused on talk-in-interaction in the context of peer education. She also works as a Teaching Associate for the Elementary Swahili course.
