    UCLA will offer a summer Arabic class for high school students who are exposed to Arabic at home and want to learn to read and write or to develop their speaking, listening, and literacy skills.

    • Sumaya Bezrati

      Sumaya Bezrati has earned both her B.A and M.A. in 2008 and 2010 respectively in Arabic Language and Literature from the Department of Near Eastern Languages and Cultures at the University of California, Los Angeles. She has been teaching Arabic High School Heritage students with the Center for World Languages at UCLA for the past two summers and is now a program representative for its High School Summer Language Institute. She also teaches Arabic part time at Santa Monica Community College. Additionally, she developed an online tutorial in Arabic script for heritage speakers of Arabic. Sumaya has also traveled extensively throughout the Arabic-speaking world, giving her a keen ear for different Arabic dialects.
